The march to 200 culminated with the confirmation of Angela Martinez as a district court judge in Arizona.

SEATTLE (AP) — Grief-stricken Chris Cornell fans left flowers at memorials across Seattle for the musician whose forceful, somber songs helped cement the city's place in rock history. One of the locations where people gathered was the Sound Garden art sculpture at a Seattle park, for which Cornell's band Soundgarden was named. "It's really sad that he could never find peace in his life," said Chad White, who came to the art display with his young son Ignatius to honor Cornell.

JOHNSTOWN — The Johnstown Tomahawks, in conjunction with the NAHL, have announced the schedule for the 2019-20 season. The Tomahawks will defend their season title starting on the road against rivals Wilkes-Barre on September 13-14 and will open at home when they welcome the New Jersey Titans to 1ST SUMMIT ARENA on Friday, September 27 at 7:30pm. Once again, the Tomahawks regular season schedule features 60 games comprised of 28 home and 28 road contests with 4 games played at the NAHL Showcase in Minnesota.

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- A Penn State alumna has started a petition after the university "reorganized" the Penn State Outing Club, barring it from partaking in outdoor activities. The petition started by alumna Julie Mastrine has garnered more than 3,600 signatures. "I am a Penn State alumna, and I hiked in the woods countless times when I lived there. Studies show that preventing young people from taking risks stunts their emotional growth, prevents them from developing identities and independence, and hurts their ability to develop resilience and handle real danger,"

It turns out, Bill Gates is a very thoughtful gift-giver, as one Michigan woman can attest after the tech titan was, surprisingly, her Secret Santa this year. Gates has been known to participate in Reddit's annual Secret Santa event. Random strangers, only connected through Reddit, take part in the gift exchange, not knowing who their Secret Santa will be. Shelby from Oakland County, Michigan is one such participant. She has sent Secret Santa gifts 95 times in the past.
