(WOLF) — TSA officers at Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport intercepted a loaded .40 caliber handgun along with a total of 20 bullets in two gun magazines at the airport checkpoint on Thursday, officials said. It was the first firearm that TSA officers have detected at the airport checkpoint this year. The weapon was caught as the man, a resident of Georgia, entered the security checkpoint. The X-ray unit alerted on the firearm among his carry-on items.

Man arrested for threats that lock down PSU dorm

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Officials have identified the man accused of threatening to harm his children, causing a lockdown at the Penn State campus. Lee Son Yom, 52, of Pine Grove, was arrested at the Motel 6 in West Hanover Township in Dauphin County, near Harrisburg, on Sunday, state police said. Yom called his sons, who are Penn State students and threatened to drive to Hamilton Hall and shoot them with a shotgun, state police said.
