(TND) — Americans' household debt continued its steady increase in the first quarter, hitting a new high of $17.69 trillion.
Federal Reserve Bank of New York’s report Tuesday also showed credit card balances decreased by $14 billion to $1.12 trillion. Still, credit card balances typically fall from the fourth quarter of one year to the first quarter of the next, and card balances this time around remained about 13% higher than they were a year ago.
ATLANTA (AP) — A Georgia appeals court on Wednesday agreed to review a lower court ruling allowing Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to continue to prosecute the election interference case she brought against former President Donald Trump.
Trump and some other defendants in the case had tried to get Willis and her office removed from the case, saying her romantic relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade created a conflict of interest.

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- A Johnstown man has been charged in three robberies that happened in April.
Corey Jackson, 48, is facing three counts of robbery, two counts of theft and two counts of receiving stolen property.
Johnstown police were investigating three robberies that happened April 13 at Pizza Deli Six Pack, Martins General Store and Carpenters Store.
According to an affidavit, police went to Pizza Deli Six Pack the night of April 13 and were told by an employee that a man came into the store and asked for two slices of pizza, and when the employee turned his back the man, later identified as Jackson, grabbed the cash register and fled the store.
PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Steelers said Wednesday that they have signed first-round draft pick T.J. Watt to a four-year deal.
Financial terms were not disclosed.
Watt, 6 feet 4 inches tall and 252 pounds, was the 30th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.
He played collegiate football at the University of Wisconsin.
Watt appeared in 27 games, making 14 starts over a two-year span. Watt recorded 70 tackles, including 17 stops for losses and 11.
