WASHINGTON (TND) — A beleaguered Secretary of State Anthony Blinken not only faced grilling from Republicans during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing Tuesday but also faced a gauntlet of anti-war protesters with even harsher words. At least four individuals were removed from the committee chamber, which was holding a hearing with Blinken to discuss the fiscal year 2025 budget request for the State Department, during the first 10 minutes of the proceedings.

Fire prevention was the main lesson for students at Windber Area Elementary School on Wednesday morning. Hundreds of students took part in their 3rd annual Health and Safety Walk and Fire Prevention Day. Students started by taking a walk outside and getting a healthy snack bag. They ended up in the gym -- where they sat in on a fire prevention assembly -- hosted by members of the Windber Fire Department and Northern EMS.

Restaurant employee saves a life on the job after knowing CPR for two days

Landon Strelko, a host at Pine Grill for the last year and a half, said he came to work March 12 and was having a normal day, but that quickly changed. “I was just in the kitchen doing to-go’s and I came back and the waitress for the man over there was yelling if anyone knew CPR,” Strelko said. Strelko said he became CPR certified just two days prior. “We went over to just get him out of the booth, check for a pulse, check to see if he’s breathing,” Strelko said.
